USPS Sets Date for New Prices and Statements

Presort.com   March 7, 2016

As reported in a previous e-Tip, the United States Postal Service® (USPS®) recently published new prices and postage statements for the market dominant product lines, including First-Class Mail®, Standard Mail®, Periodicals and Bound Printed Matter. These prices actually reflect a DECREASE, and are being implemented as a “roll-back” of current prices by the amount of the exigent price increase that was implemented back in 2014.

Implementation Date

The USPS announced the implementation date for this price rollback as April 10, 2016. To support that implementation date,PostalOne! will issue a MANDATORY update on March 27, 2016. Mailings submitted with a mailing date of April 10, 2016 or after will be calculated at the new, decreased prices. Mailings submitted with a mailing date prior to April 10, 2016 will be calculated at the current prices.

The new prices

The new prices have been made available in Excel and .CSV format and may be accessed from the Postal Explorer web site. The new draft postage statements are also available on the Postal Explorer web site.
